24 Jun One simple yoga posture for anxiety, better sleep and to reduce foot swelling!
Legs up the wall pose, it’s as simple as drawing your hips close to the wall and extended your legs up. Allow the back, shoulders and head to rest on the mat. You can rest your hands on your belly or palm up on the ground. Stay here for anywhere between 2-15 minutes. Focus your attention on your breath and breathe deeply.
By extending the legs up over your heart, you reduce the effects of gravity on your system, particularly on fluid build up in the legs and feet. This is a great pose to combat foot swelling from sitting in airplanes or at a desk all day! The pose induces a calming effect on your heart rate, putting the nervous system in a “rest and digest” state, enabling better sleep and digestion.
Try it out and feel the zen!
